Sirloin Steak Soup
Ingredients:
- 1 Large Lester's Farm Market Sirloin Steak
- 1 TBSP Butter
- 1 Large Onion, Chopped
- 8 Cups of Beef Broth
- 3 Large Potatoes, chopped
- 3 Large Carrots, Chopped
- 1 Medium Turnip, Chopped
- 2 Medium Parsnips, Chopped
- 2 Bay Leaves
- 1 TSP Celery Salt
- 1 Cup of Minute Rice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Warm a cast iron pan over medium heat. Add 1 TBSP butter and let melt. Season your steak with salt and pepper and fry the steak for 5-7 minutes on each side. Remove the steak from the pan, and transfer the juices from the pan to a large pot.
- Add the onion to the pot and let the onion simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- While the Onion is simmering, chop the steak into small pieces.
- Add broth and bring to a rolling boil.
- Reduce to medium heat and add the vegetables and the spices to the pot. Let boil for 15-20 minutes or until vegetables have softened.
- Reduce to low heat and add the rice and meat to the mixture.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Let simmer on low heat for another 10-15 minutes, then remove the bay leaves.
