Fried Green Tomato

This traditional southern dish pairs perfectly with a glass of homemade iced tea on a warm evening. Try your hand at fried green tomatoes today!

Ingredients:

  • 5 Large Green Tomatoes

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1/2 Cup Whole MIlk

  • 1 Cup Flour

  • 1/2 Cup Panko Crumbs

  • 1/4 Cup Cornmeal

  • 1 TSP Black Pepper

  • 1 Cup Vegetable Oil

Directions:

  1. Slice tomatoes in 1/2 inch slices.

  2. In a medium bowl. mix eggs and milk together

  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, panko crumbs, cornmeal and pepper.

  4. Coat the tomatoes in the eggwash, then into the crumb mixture.

  5. Fry on the stovetop over low/ medium heat for approx. 5-10 minutes on each side. They should be golden brown.
